the upper board. Illustrated endpapers. 44pp. plus 8 full page color plates printed on rectos only.
Trace of light foxing and browning in the early and later leaves, else a fine copy in a priceclipped
dustwrapper that is lacking the bottom and top half inch of the spine (no loss). On the rear
pastedown endpaper, the ticket of Los Angeles bookseller Jake Zeitlin. First American edition using
the English sheets. The dolls in this book are all real ones, drawn either from those in Museums or
elsewhere. In most cases they are dressed in the costume of the period to which they belong.
