Overall fine condition and with marginal notes by Williams indicating color values. The illustration shows an

elephant carrying bears, a mouse, a raccoon, a fox, and followed by a kangaroo, and a giraffe with two longtailed passengers

was printed by Simon and Schuster (with a different design) in 1956, and is still in print.

A VISIT TO FAIRYLAND WITH HUMPTY DUMPTY,

London, Ernest Nister, n.d. (1898). First edition. Oblong 4to.

Red cloth spine, paper over boards, the rear boards plain but the upper

board with a chromolithograph of Humpty Dumpty and the nursery

rhyme characters portrayed as children. Patterned endpapers. Six large

chromolithographed full page pulldown popup scenes in tiers and

delicately diecut, depicting Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Sleeping

Beauty, PussinBoots, The Old Woman in the

Shoe and Beauty and the Beast. Edges worn and

covers rubbed, some fingering soil to the text, a

couple of corners creases to the popups but a

very nice copy. Neat gift inscription on the front

free endpaper dated 1899.
